BMW Group has announced support for Apple’s iPod Out feature on iPod Touch and iPhone. This next generation application will enable the use of the recently added music features by iPod in the MINI and BMW vehicles. This new interface technology will give a completely new experience of using these Apple devices in the upcoming BMW group vehicles.

The iPod Out will enable BMW vehicles’ infotainment systems to use the music features of iPod Touch and iPhone in the main display of the cars. The monitor in the vehicles will offer users a much better interface and simplicity of use, just as they did with their iPod Touch. In addition to these features, there are other state-of-art iPod features available. It has a custom playlist and a feature called Genius, which automatically creates playlists from the user’s library.

This latest interface technology will constantly provide iPod Out features in the BMW vehicles. This technology is also a milestone for BMW in terms of consumer electronic device vehicle integration. Forthcoming vehicles featuring this technology will find it much easier to adapt to Apple software in iPod Touch and iPhone.

This technology has been developed by a dedicated team from BMW’s R&D centre in Munich and Germany, along with the technology office in California. This is yet another initiative by the BMW group in Infotainment integration of iPod Touch and iPhone. It is prove of BMW’s commitment towards offering its customers the very best of features and a great experience in terms of driving as well as entertainment.
