- First criteria for selection should be power. The amplifiers have two levels, Root Mean Square (RMS) and Peak Power both measured in watts. Normally peak power is double the RMS. Make sure that the power rating of your car speakers match that of amplifiers to avoid damage.
- Another important criterion is the channel. The more the number of channels more speakers can be installed. There are three types:
Single-channel powers a single speaker.
Two-channel powers two speakers and a subwoofer.
Four-channel powers up to four speakers and two subwoofers.
